About Michael Pichla

Northern Regional Manager of Great Lakes Region

Michael Pichla joined PLM Lake and Land Management in 2015, now a seasoned expert with over 9 years of experience in the aquatic industry. Michael currently serves as the Northern Regional Manager of Great Lakes Region from the Gaylord, Michigan location. As Northern Regional Manager, Michael maintains relationships with townships and lake boards to control invasive species on inland lakes, constructs maps of invasive plant infestations using ArcGIS, oversees and manages daily tasks of employees such as the control aquatic invasive species with herbicide and operating boats, UTVs, ATVs, and company vehicles.

Michael earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management and Biology at Grand Valley State University in 2016. Working at PLM, Michael’s knowledge of plant management on waterbodies big and small have allowed him to implement best management practices while meeting lake user expectations. Michael’s accomplishments, certificates and awards includes Commercial Herbicide Applicator licenses in Aquatics, Right of Ways, and Forestry.

Beyond his professional achievements, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and family and is an avid outdoorsman enjoying fly fishing, bow hunting & turkey hunting. Mike also loves training his (2) English Setters bird dogs, Annie and Jack, for upland bird hunting.
