James Scherer joined PLM Lake and Land Management in 2010 and is now a seasoned expert with over 14 years of experience in the aquatic industry. James currently serves as the Regional Manager of the Great Lakes Region from the Morrice, Michigan location. As Regional Manager, James is an Account Manager & Sales Rep specializing in Lake & Pond Management, Fountain & Aeration Sales, Scheduling, Project Coordination, Customer communications, EGLE Permitting, and Plant Identification.

James earned his associate’s Degree in Environmental Science at Lansing Community College in 2010. While at LCC, James worked for the Department of Environmental Quality-Air Quality Division (AQD), where he helped assist various programs including the asbestos abatement permitting program. James also acquired an internship at the DEQ in the Water Bureau Division in 2008. While an intern for the DEQ, he took part in waste contamination sampling, nutrient load collection, and fisheries surveys on the Kalamazoo and Huron Rivers.

Beyond his professional achievements, James is married to his spouse Adrienne, and is a dedicated family man. James is also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys deer hunting and steelhead fishing. Since 2022, he has served on the Wheatfield Township Planning Commission as the Secretary.
