Northern Senior Regional Manager of the Midwest Region

David Hillstrom joined PLM Lake and Land Management in 2012 and has since become a seasoned expert in the aquatic industry. David currently serves as the Northern Senior Regional Manager of the Midwest Region. As Northern Senior Regional Manager, David oversees daily operations while managing PLM Brainerd’s staff and aquatic invasive species accounts.

At PLM, David focuses on the central and northern counties of Minnesota—where many of the state’s most renowned lakes are located—and works directly with lake associations and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

David earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and minored in Business Administration at the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2014. While at UMD, he focused his studies on a wide variety of expert communication skills, with emphasis on Professional Communication, Group Communication, Conflict Management, Public Relations, and a personal interest in Health Communication.

David began working for PLM in a seasonal summer position, which progressed into his current role as Northern Senior Regional Manager of the Midwest Region. Growing up in the Brainerd Lakes area, David has both a sentimental and professional interest in the preservation of Minnesota’s many lakes.
David’s accomplishments, certificates, and awards include: Category F Pesticide Applicator, Adult First Aid and AED, PADI-certified Divemaster, and Special Deputy of the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team.

Beyond his professional achievements, David is married to his spouse, and they have one child. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, boating on Minnesota’s lakes, SCUBA diving with local friends, and continuing to educate himself in his field of study.
