Northern Regional Manager of the Great Lakes Region
Michael Pichla joined PLM Lake and Land Management in 2015 and has since become a seasoned expert in the aquatic industry. Michael currently serves as the Northern Regional Manager of the Great Lakes Region from the Gaylord, Michigan, location.
As Northern Regional Manager, Michael maintains relationships with townships and lake boards to control invasive species on inland lakes, constructs maps of invasive plant infestations using ArcGIS, and oversees and manages the daily tasks of employees, such as the control of aquatic invasive species with herbicide and the operation of boats, UTVs, ATVs, and company vehicles.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management and Biology at Grand Valley State University in 2016.
Working at PLM, Michael’s knowledge of plant management on waterbodies—big and small—has allowed him to implement best management practices while meeting lake user expectations.
Michael’s accomplishments, certificates, and awards include Commercial Herbicide Applicator licenses in Aquatics, Right-of-Way, and Forestry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and family and is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fly fishing, bow hunting, and turkey hunting. Mike also loves training his two English Setters, Annie and Jack, for upland bird hunting.
